My work focuses on defamiliarizing the human body through manipulation and abstraction of the figure. I explore the weird, humorous, and uncomfortable aspects of the human form by exaggerating features, expressing comical gestures, and distorting the figure. Even though the physical exhibition has been cancelled and we have resorted to finishing our projects at home, I was still able to pursue my original idea to some extent. “You Don’t Need Bones” is an interactive, igloo-shaped sculpture constructed from plaster castings and painted with acrylics.
